coffee club issue 2. | spring means it’s time to get creative & meet new people
creative and tech events this month, a 10 pound chocolate bunny, and why transitions are actually beautiful
spring and everything after
it’s finally spring in new york and the flowers are actually blooming and i don’t think i fully appreciated how much i needed this.
after that february snowfall and the interminable cold, being outside in the sunshine with my friends all in one place just hits different.
my friend Bella also texted me that the year was a quarter done. already?
and i asked myself what i’ve done with it. the answer is complicated because on one hand it went by so fast, but on the other hand i’m sitting here in the sun with people i love working on things that matter to me and i think that’s the answer.
transitions happen so gradually that you don’t notice them until you’re already on the other side. the version of me that was buried under february snow was quietly becoming this one.
one that is ready to make more creative projects, share more in public, and meet new people :)
and with summer coming and new projects taking shape, i genuinely can’t wait to see what the next phase looks like.
what’s coming up 📅
a few things worth putting on your calendar:
🤖 the spark hack series new york april 10 -- nvidia is bringing together frontier builders, ml engineers, and startup teams to push the limits of local ai development. good one if you’re deep in the tech world.
🖼️ gallery opening: röntgen the (in)visible world april 10 -- an art opening worth checking out this thursday night.
💻 new interfaces 001 april 11 -- an intimate afternoon exploring cool interactions across web, apps, hardware, art, and more. exactly the kind of thing we love.
🌿 greenpointers spring market april 12 -- a spring market in greenpoint. good excuse to get outside and support local makers.
🍫 watch me eat the 10 pound costco chocolate bunny april 12 -- no explanation needed. just go.
🌸 primavera: the first green of a new era of computing april 15 -- a celebration of a more expressive, more colorful, more human future of ai. the vibe sounds like our kind of thing.
places we love right now 🤍
coffee club wouldn’t exist without our partner cafes that have opened their doors to us and let a bunch of strangers take over their tables on weekday mornings. here are a few we want to shout out.
angelina bakery in union square has been a go-to spot for the community. good food, good light, good energy. visit them here.
madis coffee roasters is a philly spot on walnut street that we love. great roasts, great atmosphere, the kind of place that makes you want to stay longer than you planned. find them on instagram.
dark matter coffee is doing something different. bold, creative, and a little unexpected, kind of like the best people in our community. find them on instagram.
